We are the universe made conscious of itself

We are made of the same elements that compose the universe: hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, and iron; the same stellar matter that shapes galaxies, stars, and life. We are part of the universe, and the universe lives within us. We are the universe made conscious of itself.

For me, the human being is just one step in our evolution: a transitional stage in which consciousness learns to recognize itself, to transform, and to expand toward new forms of existence. However, as long as we remain dominated by our basest passions—anger, lust, greed, envy, and pride—we will continue to be simply monkeys with cell phones.
