I begin this series through the meditative process of working with textiles, jute, and other materials. Inspired by the Everglades, the sea, and the fragile balance of nature, I reflect on the consequences of a concept of progress shaped by consumption and economic greed.
I work with organic textures, fibers, and layered surfaces to explore our connection with the natural world. I draw on ancestral philosophies that understand human beings as part of an interconnected living system, rather than separate from nature.
Through this work, I also question how our values and actions affect the world around us. When we harm nature, we harm ourselves. My pieces invite reflection on our responsibility within this shared existence and the possibility of restoring a more conscious and balanced relationship with the natural world.
